Establishment of Flux in Magnetic Cores

چکیده
The same fundamental propagation and diffusion processes that establish current in conductors are also involved in establishing flux on the surface of magnetic cores and laminations but the spatial positions of the E and H fields are interchanged in the insulating medium. The E fields appear around the magnetic cores when the flux changes (∫Edl = dφ/dt), and the H fields are normal to idealized core surfaces. In the case of conductors, the displacement current plays an important part in layering any current changes onto the conductor surface during each transition of the line. However, in the case of magnetic cores, it is the ‘leakage’ flux that builds up the surface core flux, and adds any changes in dφ/dt to the core surface, on each transition of the magnetic line. Once set up on the surface the flux, and hence the surface H field, slowly diffuses into the interior of the core until it is uniformly distributed throughout its cross sectional. Thus leakage flux is essential for the operation of magnetic circuits, inductors, and transformers and exists even in the case of idealized systems with materials of infinite permeability.

Nonlinear Model of Tape Wound Core Transformers
Recently, tape wound cores due to their excellent magnetic properties, are widely used in different types of transformers. Performance prediction of these transformers needs an accurate model with ability to determine flux distribution within the core and magnetic loss. Spiral structure of tape wound cores affects the flux distribution and always cause complication of analysis. In this paper, a...

Abstract: Local flux may be distorted in many regions of core, although total flux is usually sinusoidal. When attempting to predict the loss distribution in materials operating under localized distorted flux conditions, which occur in machines and transformer cores, it is essential that proper account of the waveform be taken. Moreover for development of new magnetic materials and generation ...

متن کاملExperimental Study on the Effect of Magnetic Field on Critical Heat Flux of Ferrofluid Flow Boiling in a Vertical Tube
In the present work, the critical heat flux measurements were performed for the subcooled flow boiling of pure water and magnetic nanofluids (i.e., water + 0.01 and 0.1 vol.% Fe3O4) in a vertical tube. The effect of applying an external magnetic field on the CHF variation was studied experimentally as well. The obtained results indicated that the subcooled flow boiling CHF in the vertical tub...

Introduction: The power transmission lines are the emission source of extremely low frequency (ELF) electromagnetic fields that are considered to have an adverse impact on human health. Therefore the aim of this study was to evaluate the amount of magnetic flux with extremely low frequencies (ELF) around high voltage power transmission lines in the western areas of Tehran in 2012. Material a...
